  • Yorkshire in Yellow

    30th May 2014

As Yorkshire counts down to the Grand Départ of the Tour de France this summer, the Millennium Gallery is set to debut a major new display inspired by the Tour’s most iconic symbol the ‘Maillot Jaune’, the Tour’s yellow jersey. To celebrate, contemporary artists, designers and creatives from across the region and around the globe were invited to design their own tribute to the ‘Maillot Jaune’ in the form of a yellow T shirt.

Over 60 t-shirt designs include Pete McKee, Alan Kitching, The Designers Republic, Margaret Calvert, Wim Crouwel, M/M Paris, Hey Studio and others.

Our contribution pays homage to Eugene Christophe, the first cyclist who wore the yellow jersey in 1919. His nickname Cri-Cri also means 'a bird' in French. When he was wearing the jersey at the tour spectators started to imitate bird’s twittering and called him The Cycling Canary.

Many thanks Made North for the invite

  • New Work: Sebazzo

    14th November 2013

Constructed from Gridnik – the logotype’s uppercase sans-serif letterforms, 45-degree corners, monoline weight, structure and geometry, as well as its compounded nature, all point towards a straightforward and confident technological efficiency and neatly reference the designers that make up Sebazzo. The characters are well spaced, balanced by a central A and executed with a single black ink print treatment that provides a distinctive contrast to the more expressive and tactile sensibilities of the stationery.

The diagonal cut of the bright and pastel boards that make up the business cards create a striking but restrained dual tone and subtle dynamic aesthetic that feels like a simple but effective distillation of a two-man studio which compliments the ideation of the name and neatly splits the logotype into its two constituent parts. These are neatly unified by the tactile
and crafted qualities of their paper marquetry construction.

    Printed by Cerovski.

  • New Work: Nosive Strukture Company Presentation

    3rd October 2013

Bunch designed an A5, modular ‘concept box’ for Nosive Strukture that can be updated with additional assignments in the future. The box holds 7—10 concertina cards, each representing one project. They are different in the number of pages and printed on various stock that best fits their client’s task.

The portfolio continues to develop the themes of geometry and tensegrity structure established by the identity (created earlier in the year) but rather than fine lines, a range of coloured facets adorn the covers. These add a brighter and slightly more playful and accessible dimensionality to the brand and create an interesting aesthetic contrast to the utility and precision of the technical detail inside.

These tray and sleeve jewellery boxes were made to a bespoke size and covered in a textured recyclable paper. The outside of the jewellery boxes are foil printed in 1 colour to the tray and sleeve. Inside the boxes are fitted with a velvet covered foam fitment which reversible to accommodate a ring, earring or necklace.

  • Lecers

    23rd February 2012

The UK is a country with rich history and a unique cultural identity. Understanding the UK and how the British think can sometimes be difficult for people from overseas. This lack of understanding can stop an individual getting a job, it can prevent companies from trade and can hinder cultural exchange between nations.

Bunch designed a logo for Lecers, specialists in providing professional training to the Chinese. Through their tours, seminars and club membership, they unlock a unique insight into what it is like to live, work and play in the U.K.

  • Borna & Fils

    21st December 2011

Recently we won the pitch to design a corporate identity for Borna & Fils. We've created our version of an Apsasû for this high end Parisian label...

The Apsasû, a female version of Lamassu, usually associated as a symbol of power with the ancient Assyrians, is a celestial being from Mesopotamian mythology. Human above the waist and a bull below the waist, with wings of an eagle and a crowned human head, Lamassu is known to be a protector of kings and always positioned in pairs as gate guardians to cities and palaces.

Watch this space for more news about the label's flagship store opening soon in Venice...

Bunch has been asked to contribute to this month's ICON Magazine. Here's a sneak peek of what we came up with together with Schober Design. The dingy packages, parcels and envelopes of the Royal Mail get a makeover in order to make the experience of visiting a post office almost as exciting as receiving a letter – even if the actual post office remains the same... • Hidden

    17th October 2011

Hidden, a South London nightclub, that has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment needed a logo to reflect this newly-stellar kid on the block.

We created a logo where 'Hidden' is contained in the two vertical lines, which convey both 'H' of Hidden and resemble a pause button to hold direct reference to music.

The logotype, strong in simplicity and bold in design, represents a fine, premier contender in club-world.
